The wife of the Executive Chairman, Oshodi/Isolo local government, Omofadekemi Owoade Oloyede, has called for an end to violence against the girl child.
International day for girl child is a day carved out to celebrate girls child and the need to curb the menace of social vices against them across the globe.
The council wife boss said it is worrisome how the girl child daily go through different forms of violence, this she said is dehumanising, frown at and urged perpetrators to desist.
Mrs Oloyede while celebrating the International Girls Day on Monday called on parents to give adequate attention to the training and upkeep of the girl child for a better future.
She said; "the girl child needs extraordinary care as they are prone to domestic violence" she urged parents and guardians to be more meticulous and teleguided during the upbringing of female children.
"Parents and guardians should be watchful and place an eagle eye on their female wards in order to avoid the cases of rape, child trafficking, unauthorized canal knowledge and other domestic violence," she said.
The Oshodi-Isolo Council Boss wife promised intervention in pursuance of justice should any case of abuse of a girl child is recorded within her domain.
