Oshodi-Isolo LG Chair Presents N2.7B year 2022 Budget to Legislative Arm

he Oshodi-Isolo local government chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, has presented N2.7B year 2022 budget to the legislative arm of the council.


Oloyede while presenting the budget tagged 'Budget of Transformation' promised to ensure effective implementation of the budget once pased by the legislators, saying the budget will align with the direction of the Lagos State government in taking the council to greater heights.


The budget, Oloyede said when passed will help in transforming the council in his strides on infrastructural development of the council. 


"We proposed a total sum of N2,759,515.46 as both recurrent and capital  expenditure out of which N400,830,259.35 is for personnel cost of council staff, N488,401,66.18 is budgeted for teachers salaries, non pensionable allowance is N130,000,000, overhead cost takes N624,123,390.40 while capital expenditure is N798,060,231.07," he said.


The council boss said his administration will improve infrastructure and equip the various primary health care centres.


He said, "We intend to improve on the health care delivery to the good people of this local government, therefore a total sum of N33 million is allocated for the procurement of medical equipment and rehabilitating our primary health centres".


Still in the budget, the council chair allocated N25 million for the welfare and alleviation of poverty in the local government.


"The total well being of the people of Oshodi-Isolo local government is paramount to this administration, therefore a total sum of N25 million is allocated for empowerment and poverty alleviation," he said.


In making his promise of transforming the education sector a reality, the council boss  budgeted N25 million for education development.


He said, "A total sum of N22 million is earmarked for construction/rehabilitation of primary schools , provision of school furniture as well as rehabilitation of the  adult vocational centre, less privilege and children.


The council boss appeal resident to promptly and always pay their dues to enable the local government to meet up its obligations of providing basic social amenities to the people. 

Let me use this medium to appeal to the residents of this local government area to ensure a clean environment and effect payments due to the local government to enable us provide the basic amenities and services as the government at the grassroots.



While receiving the budget, leader of the legislative arm, Hon Rasheed Obasa, promised speedy passage of the budget while ensuring due diligence of the law is followed. 


Obasa comended the chairman for delivering of dividends of democracy to the people of Oshodi.


He said; "Mr chairman, permit to commend your courage, forthrighteness as well as your determined spirit all geared towards a greater Oshodi-Isolo local government by bringing the dividend of democracy to the door step of the people. 

 I am not surprised you won the best executive chairman on infrastructure and rural-urban development in Nigeria. 

You will agree with me that the responsiveness and readiness of this honourable hose to pass pro-people and pro-development bye-laws is on the right course in giving mr chairman the much needed enabking environment to perform creditably well to the admiration of our people".
