Sets up ward committees
It was a carnival-like event as Alakija Mayowa officially declared his intention and expression of interest to contest for Oshodi Lagos State House of Assembly, constituency 1 come 2023. The meeting saw the gathering of major political Titans and leaders within Oshodi-Isolo local government.
At the official announcement, notable Leaders within the ruling APC in Oshodi were present to give their support and also canvass support for Alakija Mayowa.
A former chairman of Oshodi/Isolo local government, Prince S.O. Aina eulogized Alakija, described him as a gifted youth that has carved a niche for himself in his personal endeavour and in politics. He also described him as a lover of the people, who is always thinking of ways to better the lives of the people.
A party leader, Chief Akeju, also described Alakija as a person from a good home. He said he knew his father way back and he was an upright man that did not tarnish his name while in active politics. He urged Alakija Mayowa to live up to the name and good reputation of his father which he has already started building on.
Another party leader, Elder Sunday Akinwale in what is described as a thorough analysis of whom Mayowa Alakija is and stands for. He disclossed that he is a resourceful youth with vast experience both in private and public sectors. He urged the youth to give him their support because he is one of them and he will not disappoint them.
A former vice chairman of the local government, Barr. Kayode Tinubu also joined the leaders in describing Alakija Mayowa as a perfect youth who will connect the youth with a superb output. He disclosed that Mayowa Alakija is a youth with robust experience and the best person for Oshodi LAHA in this present time of Oshodi. He opined and reiterated his stand that his age mate should allow the youth to take over mantle of leadership as it's their time and season.
Other leaders across the caucus within the APC which include Hon. Ayodele, Animashaun, a former LGA woman leader, Chief Mrs Alabi, amongst others also took time to shower encomiums on Alakija and also urged the youth and women to massively support one of them for the post of LAHA.
Alakija Mayowa while responding appreciated all the leaders present one after the other, the women wing and youths. He also appreciated the seven coordinators across the seven wards and urged them to put in their best noting that now is the time for youth to use their massive strength, number and energies in ensuring that one of them emerges. He noted that in the coming weeks/months, he will be rolling out his manifesto and roadmap that will ushered development and better synergy between the various levels of governments.
The wards coordinators promised to return to their wards and mobilize massively for the Alakija's project. The highlight of the event was the group photographs between Alakija Mayowa and the youths.
