Nigeria Film and Video Censor Board Organizes Capacity Building for Directorates and Presidents of Film Industry.

 

The National Film and Video Censor Board of Nigeria (NFVCB) as organised a week-long capacity building for Directorates and Presidents of Guild and Associations of film industry across Nigeria. Th











e capacity building which is tagged "Capacity Building and Monitoring for Directorate Staff and Presidents of Guild/Association of Film Industry" is  taking place at the Nigerian Police College, Ikeja, Lagos. The seminar is aimed at equipping the Directorates and Presidents with 21st century leadership attributes, keep them abreast of the latest happenings with the agency as well as ensure they prevail on their members to improve on their output to the public.


The Executive Director (ED) of the agency, Alhaji Adedayo Thomas, urged the participants to make the best use of the seminar, noting that the agency will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that every stakeholders are duly carried along in it's drive towards ensuring that they dutifully discharge their roles of entertaining the public, preserving our culture and projecting us in positive outlook in the international space. 


In the words of the Executive Director, "I welcome the Directorates and Presidents of Guild and Associations of film industry to this important capacity building program. The aim of the seminar is to improve our leadership output while also bringing us to speed on the latest happenings both within and outside the agency and film industry. The agency has took the stress to engage the services of seasoned consultants that would lecture us on different areas that have been identified. I encourage us to be attentive so that we can leave here better than we came". 


A management consultant, researcher and leader by the name O.O. Ladipo, was the first to lecture the participants on "Role of leadership in building and sustaining high performing teams". He enumerated the various leadership qualities that would improve the performance of a leader. He took his time to critically analysed the traits needed and qualities to watch-out for in getting a performing employee. 


Mr John Adebowale, Director, Zuxx-Remedia Nig. Ltd, also brought the participants to speed on the new e-service portal that is now available on the website of the agency. He posited that the agency in its bid to make things seamless for it's stakeholders has improved on the website and included services ranging from censorship approval, generation of certificate, request for licenses, centralization of data base, film title search, to mention but a few. 


The participants were pleased with the development and praised the leadership of NFVCB for their ingenuity and thoughtfulness. They noted such centralized database will make it easier to identify registered members from those that are not.
