Not Too Young To Run Movement Sensitized People on Importance of PVCs









The Lagos Chapter of the Not Too Young To Run (NTYTR) movement, as part of it's agenda, has educated the people of Oshodi/Isolo LGA on the need to register and collect their PVCs as regarding the forthcoming general elections. 


The movement is the convergence of young vibrant people that are determined to impact and effect positive changes by encouraging people, particularly young people, to participate in governance and electoral process.  


The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the movement, Dr. Adesua Abubakar, noted that it has become imperative to sensitize the people about the collection of PVCs and it’s use aside being a means of identification.


In her words, " our movement is the coming together of different youths from various backgrounds. We are poised towards educating and enlightening the general populace, particularly the youths, about government activities, electoral process and the need for the youth to get fully involved in the political activities of our dear country. Our sensitization exercise is kicking-off from Oshodi-Isolo local government but we will reach out to all the other local government areas before the PVC registration expires."


She stated that the NTYTR movement has been able to pre-register 1,276 residents of Oshodi as well as explain the importance of voting to them. These were done through one-on-one interaction with the people, visit to religious houses and other notable places. They were also urged to cast their votes at the appropriate time for the candidates of their choice.


The movement also expatiated the importance of PVCs in electoral process and charged the people to collect their voters card when the time comes as the number of abandoned cards at INEC offices are always alarming. They disclosed that the era of sitting at home during election without voting is over. They urged the people to register, collect their PVCs and cast their votes during election. Furthermore, they implored the people not stay at home to watch TV and be complaining about how the country is being run they should get involved. They also stated that an individual's vote is his right and civic duty to perform for the betterment of the country.
