They are two personalities, different in so many ways yet similar in many. They choose different careers, chart different courses yet end up in a "similar positions.
One bears Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu (BOS). A perfect gentleman to the core and a silent achiever. He started his political journey by being appointed S.A. to former deputy governor of Lagos, Femi Petro. He was later Acting Commissioner before being appointed Commissioner by Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He also served as a Commissioner under Babatunde Fashola before being appointed MD/CEO of Lagos State Development and property corporation by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode. He currently seats as the Governor of Lagos State, the most dynamic and complex state in the whole of Nigeria.
The second is Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, a registered and licensed property developer and consultant, with vast experience in community development services and with enormous projects cut across Oshodi, Lagos and Nigeria in general. He singlehandedly turned around the business fortune of Oshodi market by inviting Chinese investors to Oshodi-Isolo local government in order to open up the market space for more business activities. Due to the activities, inputs and investments of the foreign investors he invited, Oshodi market became one of the major central business district where Lagos State government and Oshodi-Isolo local government were generating more IGR. As a pioneer member of Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Oshodi-Isolo local government, he contested for House of Representatives both in 2003 and 2007 but not to his favour. He now seats as the chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, the most dynamic and heterogeneous" local government in Lagos state and possibly Nigeria.
As much as these personalities are different in their own ways, there are alot of things that bring them together, a lot of traits they share. They both worked their ways to the top through share hard-work, dedicated, doggedness and passion. They are both students of Asiwaju school of politics and their loyalty to the true tenets of democracy as enshrined by Asiwaju is in no doubt.
Aside the above similarities, they both have also been tagged "Mr Projects" in their respective localities, the massive projects they have both executed and still executing have endeared them to the populace. Otunba Kehinde Oloyede is walking closely and learning fast from his boss, Mr Governor Sanwo-olu in terms of good governance and delivering the true dividends of democracy to the good people of Oshodi just as Mr. Governor is doing for the betterment of entire Lagosians.
Both leaders are workaholics, working round the clock to ensure the people are not short-changed. Just as Gov. Sanwo-olu has been a supportive boss, Kendoo is also a loyal subordinate working the talk. There is no gain saying in the fact that both men are workaholics, working for the betterment of their localities.
