Education is an integral part of human development and should not be left totally to the government alone, it is
in the spirit of Public Private Partnership (PPP) with the local government and desire to give back to the society that a group of community youths residing in Oshodi called, Balogun Youths, pulled their resources together to renovate a primary school within their community.
A block housing 4 classrooms and office was renovated by the youth who disclosed that they were not happy at the deplorable condition that pupils were studying. The renovation was done in partnership with Orum Trading Exchange, an indigenous organisation set up by Mr. Joseph Sunday and domicile in Oshodi.
At the commissioning, the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, represented by his vice, Hon. Mrs. Modupe Badmus-Aregbe, appreciated the group and the CEO of Orum Trading Exchange for deeming it fit to give back to the society and contributed their own quota to the development of education in Oshodi.
In her words, "on behalf of my chairman, I want to appreciate Balogun Youths and Orum Trading Exchange for this lofty project. Education is very important and the government will always welcome partnership and collaboration. God will continue to bless you all. As a government, we are open to collaboration between private bodies in any area of the community".
The CEO of Orum Trading Exchange and chairman of Balogun Youths, Mr. Joseph Sunday, appreciated the support he received from the local government before, during and after the completion of the project. He also appreciated his members for their love for the community and their desire to want to contribute their quota.
The head teacher of the school, also prayed for the youths for giving the school a facelift. Dignitaries present at the occasion include the chief of Staff to the local government, Hon. Leke Banjoko, leader of the legislative Arm, Hon. Rasheed Obasa, Councillor representing Mafoluku Ward, Hon. Kazeem Abayomi, S.A. Revenue, Hon. Gideon Balogun, S.A. Media, Information and ICT, Hon. Tobi Salako and host of others.
