... Promises 4 million votes for Tinubu, APC in Lagos
The Arewa Community in Oshodi-Isolo local government have met with the council chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, at the council secretariat on Friday promising to mobilize 4 million votes for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.
Oloyede congratulated the Arewa Community for deeming it fit to be united as a single group.
The council boss said; "I want to congratulate you for forming a formidable and united front. It is in unity that lies our strength just like the symbol of our party.My doors are open for discussions and engagement, feel free to come to me whenever the need arises.
I want you to work and support all the candidates of our party to success in the coming elections. I want to assure you that you will not be left out in the affairs of the party, we will include you in our campaign committee when the time comes."
Speaking on the infrastructural projects embarked upon by his administration, Oloyede said he monitors the works done to ensure quality job is deliver for the residents.
The group led by the Lagos State Secretary of the Arewa Community, Alhaji Kudu Abubakar, briefed the chairman of the association's decision to come together with all Northerners to form a united front to mobilise for All Progressives Congress in the coming general elections.
"We have decided to come together in Lagos state as a united organisation for the benefit of our communities and to support Tinubu and all candidates of the APC.
"We will give APC 3 to 4 million votes for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos state. We have started mobilzsing our members for this purpose.
"Lagos is a leader of all states in Nigeria, we are always proud and we are always being held with high esteem each time we go home and we tell our people that we are from Lagos. I am proud of Oshodi and now prouder for the good works you are doing on infrastructure in the council, you are an example of a good chairman in Lagos State. We wish you success in your administration, we will continue to support you 100 per cent.
Also speaking was Secretary of the Nupe community, a cluster of the Arewa Community, Abubakar Yakubu, said the group mobilized over 500 Nupe members to register during the voters registration exercise.
Chairman of Arewa Community Oshodi-Isolo local government chapter, Alhaji Mohammed Mahmud, popularly called Alhaji Abbah thanked the council chairman for given them audience and promised their unalloyed loyalty and support for the government.
"We want to assure you that we are ever ready to support your government and mobilize support for the presidential candidate of the APC, Tinubu, Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and others in Oshodi-Isolo local government," he said.
