The executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, has kicked off the resurfacing of Oshodi and Mafoluku Roads on Thursday.
The popular and everly busy roads are one of the busiest roads within the local government, connecting Igbehinadun, Afariogun and Mafoluku Wards of the council. It is also an access road to both the local and the international airport.
Oloyede seeing the deplorable state of the roads immediately deployed contractors to the road to start resurfacing to make life easier for the teeming residents.
The chairman has vowed not to rest on his oars until Oshodi is given a total facelift.
Residents on seeing contractors working on the roads, could not hide their outpour of joyous feelings as appreciated the chairman for the good work.
Expressing their profound gratitude were Ms Gloria Chukwuka and Mr. Bernard Ogwu, both of whom are business owners on the popular roads.
They noted that the difficulty posed by the deplorable state of the road will be over soon and would boost their business activities.
Ms Gloria disclosed that "this particular road has been bad for several years. It is particularly worse anytime it rains because there would be flood and long holdup. Thank God, Kendoo is coming to our rescue. May God bless him".
In the words of Mr Bernard, "I have been hearing and seeing the works of Kendoo since he became the chairman. I have been praying that he looks towards this direction but I am happy now that he has decided to work on this road. I know this road is a state road but due to his determination, he is working on it. Upon completion, businesses will improve and the residents will no longer waste valuable time in the holdup. May God continue to bless Kendoo for us".
