The Oshodi-Isolo local government office of the United Nations Development Programme in partnership with the Rotary International, Ewutuntun, has commenced training vocational training for youths in the local government.
The training programme which was kicked off by the council chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, will train over 500 youths on different skills for one month.
Oloyede represented by the Secretary to the local government, Hon Smart Akinleye, said the training of the youth is in tandem with his administration plan to emancipate the youths from joblessness and idleness.
The council boss in his words at the kick off ceremony urged participants to utilisze the opportunity and remain focus as the training commences.
Also standing for the council chairman was the Special Adviser on Education to the local government chairman was Hon Joke Onitolo.
Onitolo also advised the participants to make judicious use of the training opportunity to equip themselves.
She reinstated the council chairman's commitment in transforming the education sector to one that will be admirer by all. Saying all dilapidated school structures will be rehabilitated and equip with furniture.
President of the Rotary, Rotr Kudirat Olaopoola, thanked the local government chairman for partnering with the organisation in training the youths.
She encouraged the participants to believe in their dreams, work towards and remain committed to it, saying all dreams are achievable if believed in.
