Politicians from all strata have continued to mourn the late deputy chief of staff of the Oshodi-Isolo local government, Hon Goke Oguntulu. He died on Sunday from injuries sustained when he was shot on Friday.
Sending their condolence was the All Progressives Congress chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Hon. Saheed Animashaun, member Federal House of Representatives, Oshodi-Isolo constituency 1, Hon. Bashiru Dawodu, former chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Hon Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh, Lagos state House of Assembly candidate of the APC, Oshodi-Isolo constituency 1, Otunba Kayode Ogundipe and DG, National Films and Videos Censored Board, Alhaji Adedayo Thomas, amongst others.
Animashaun said he will personally miss Oguntulu as a friend whom he fondly called 'Meta Meta'
He said; "If anyone has told us you would die now, we would have fought the person hard, because there was life in you all through. You lived a life worthy of emulation, you have always made people around you happy. You are such a jovial person and lovingly to be with. We will dearly miss you, Goke.
"As we mourn your demise we pray for the repose of your body and that may God give the family, friends and all of us at the APC, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss."
Hon. Dawodu said; "No doubt, his death is a great loss to Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1, a very reliable political ally.
It is my prayer God grants the family, friends, well wishers and the good people of Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1 the fortitude to bear the loss".
Muse-Ariyoh said; "the announcement of the death of GOK is still very difficult to align with.
"It is sad that GOK bid the World farewell unannounced while he left many in a state of mourning"
"I pray God to grant him eternal rest and the loved ones he left behind with that fortitude to bear the irreparable loss". he concluded.
Ogundipe noted that; "until his death, Hon. Goke Oguntulu was a committed party loyalist, a fearless and unrepentant political chieftain that was always committed to whatever cause he believed in.
He was a socialite per excellence, a fun-filled personality that never allowed any dull moment wherever he found himself.
"I sincerely commiserate with his immediate family, all party members, and most especially with my dear brother and associate Otunba Kehinde Almaroof-Oloyede, the Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government for the loss and I pray God Almighty grants us all the fortitude to bear the irreparable and irreplaceable loss of this gentleman."
Also mourning the departed Oguntulu was the DG, National Films and Videos Censored Board, Alhaji Adedayo Thomas, who noted that the joy of his birthday celebration was punctured upon hearing the sad news. He disclosed that the death of Oguntulu coincide with his birthday and he has been left grief-stricken. The DG described the deceased as lively and affable. He also described him as "a younger brother, committed friend and a loyal ally who diligently and dedicatedly played his role as his Assistant (Political).
