Ward E2 Councillor of Oshodi-Isolo LG, Hon. Temitope Ige-Adega, Empowers Widows.















 






The honourable councillor representing Ewu Ward E2 of Oshodi-Isolo local, Hon. Temitope Ige-Adega, in her bid to cushion the current economic hardship amongst the elderlies and widows has distributed empowerment materials  and cash gifts to widows in her ward.


The council lawmaker noted that the widows empowerment programme is in fulfillment of the promise she made while campaigning. She disclosed that since the commencement of her tenure about a year ago,  she has been able to facilitate road construction, borehole water, distributed 100 Jamb forms, to mention but a few in her ward. She noted that the modest achievements so far would not have been possible without the firm support of the council chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, the party leaders and residents within her Ewu ward. 


In her words, "we are here today to witness yet another fulfillment of my campaign promise. I made promise to empower elderlies if elected and I am here to fulfill that pledge. This is the maiden edition and by the grace of God, it shall continue. I am passionate about elderlies and widows knowing that they are often not strong physically. I want to plead with our people that this program will be in phases and we shall endeavour to make it go around".


The Apex leader of Ewu Ward who also was a former Vice Chairman of Council, Hon. Kayode Tinubu, thanked the Councillor for being proactive and deeming it fit to empower the widows who are not strong physically. He also preached peace and unity within the party. 


The immediate past chairman of the ward, Mr. Kolawode Salami, noted that such empowerment at the ward level is happening for the first time. He disclosed that during the tenure of  other Councillors, such program was not done hence the need to appreciate the Councillor. He thanked her for her passion about the development of the party and bridging the financial gap of the widows.


One of the beneficiaries, Alhaja Alapaji appreciated the Councillor for her financial assistance and prayed for more blessings. She implored her to continue while urging other Councillors to emulate her.


Also appreciating the Councillor for her magnanimity was another beneficiary, Alhaja Shuabu who said is extremely happy for such gesture from the Councillor. She said her financial assistance will be used to support her business.


Others ward leaders present include the ward chairman, Hon. Sunday Adeyeye, Mr. Anibire, Mr. Dokunmu, Mama Alabi, Hon. Adeniyi Fatoki(Oracle) and host of others.
