Oshodi-Isolo Council Boss Orders Fixing of Damaged Bridge

... Urges Residents to Protect Govt. Infrastructure

The executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, has directed the council engineers to fix a damaged bridge section of the newly constructed Orona Street Link.

The linking  bridge was damaged by a heavily loaded cement truck conveying cement to a nearby site.

The Orona Link is a major link between Adeyemi Street and Orona Street, which serves as a route for transporters anytime there is traffic congestion on Adeyemi street.

The council boss while directing the engineers to fix the bridge urged residents to desist from wanton destruction of government properties and must serve as protectors of such infrastructures to be able to serve the purpose it was meant for.

Oloyede said his administration will continue to make available infrastructure for the people.

He, however, warned that anyone caught destroying such infrastructures will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

He said; "it has come to our notice that a fully loaded cement truck has destroyed the Orona Street Link overnight, this is frown at. We have however moved swiftly into action by instructing the engineering and works department to fix the damaged bridge to make life easier for our people.

"We appeal to our people to avoid intentional or unintentional destruction of government infrastructures within their communities, we will not allow anyone destroy all we have done. Anyone caught in such wanton destruction of infrastructures will be made to face the full wrath of the law."
