Oshodi-Isolo LG chairman, Oloyede, Receives Excos of Conference 57 on ICT

The executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, has received in audience the representatives of Supervisors and Special Advisers on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) across the 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State in his office.

The council boss who received the executive members of the group at his Oyetayo office on Friday, appreciated them for the role they have been playing at their various councils.

While paying homage to the executive chairman, the chairman of the forum, Hon. Moses Hunyinsode, who is the Supervisor for ICT, Badagry Local Government, appreciated the council chairman for creating time to meet with the forum.

He explained that the visit became necessary because the forum had just finished their meeting hosted by the local government hence, the need for them to pay homage to the chairman and also appreciate him for the warm reception.

Hon. Hunyinsode stated that, "Mr Chairman sir, these are some of the members of Lagos State Super/SAs Forum for ICT across the entire Local Government and LCDAs in Lagos. We have just finished our meeting in your local government hosted by your loyal aide on Media, Information and ICT, Hon. Tobi Salako, who is also the Secretary of our forum and we are here to thank you for the warm reception you extended to us. We also want to use this medium to inform you on the importance of the ICT unit in the effective running of the local government and urge you to give the necessary support to the unit for efficient service delivery."

Oloyede while responding appreciated the forum for their passionate drive noting that such office and forum should be given due recognition and support.

He noted that ICT is pivotal to running a seamless administration and that was why he set up the unit even before the directive from the state government.

According to him, "I want to welcome you all to my office and our local government. Your portfolios are very germane to effective service delivery in the current 21st century and anyone who is not ready or willing to engage technology will only be left behind. Being someone that is technologically savvy myself, I will surely accord the office the necessary support. Our unit was setup here even before the directive to do so from the state government and we shall continue to use technology to promote our administration and better the lives of our people."

He continued, "We have a lot of talents in Oshodi and I will continue to showcase and project them to the world. Look at this manual drawing for instance, it was presented to me by a boy of about 14years old. This drawing is sentimental to me because it shows raw talent and little beginning. I will not change anything about it because each time I see it, it will constantly remind me of the kinds of fine talents we have in Oshodi and the need to show them to the world so that they can see us for who we really are which is a community full of brains and talents".

The council boss further said the little boy that presented him the drawing is currently on scholarship and he will continue to encourage talents.

Hon. Adekunle Lawal from Alimosho local government appreciated the chairman for the successes recorded so far in his administration, his humane nature and implored him to continue in that line.

Also present in the meeting include the Vice Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Hon. Mrs. Modupe Badmus-Aregbe, the APC LGA chairman, Hon. Saheed Animashaun, Hon.
