In his determination to ensure there is smooth movement of people, goods and services within the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area, the chairman of the council, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, has commenced rehabilitation of Dawudu street.
The rehabilitation works, Oloyede said, when completed will ease traffic in the area and it will also guarantee smooth movement of vehicles.
The executive chairman said while acting on the request of the residents, he promptly mobilized the Road Maintenance Department of the Works and Engineering Department of the local government to site to commence the rehabilitation work.
While giving out the directive, Oloyede noted that if things could work the way he wants it, all the roads in Oshodi would be done all at once but it is not possible due to paucity of funds and other logistical challenges.
He, however, pledged that before leaving office, his administration would have done all or majority of the roads within the council.
He said he will continue to embark on massive Infrastructural projects that would transform Oshodi and make it more motorable.
He said; "I have directed the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Road Maintenance Department to swiftly carryout rehabilitation of Dawudu street to enable smooth vehicular movement. The rehabilitation of some of our roads will be done in batches and I urge our people to keep faith and continue in their support. If it were to be the way I want it, all the roads in Oshodi would have been done by now but there are other sectors that require government attention and intervention."
"The Road Maintenance Department of our local government will be carrying out this kind of exercise on our roads and they will be moving from street to street. Streets that are still manageable will be rehabilitated and the totally bad ones will be worked on. Our pledge to God and promise to our people to provide Infrastructures are firmly in our hearts and we shall discharge accordingly", he concluded.
Residents, seeing the rehabilitation team of the chairman, were happy and eulogized the chairman for his continued Infrastructural strides within the local government. They prayed for his success in office and implored him not to get distracted.
