In a bid to strengthen their portfolios and effectively discharge their duties, the forum for Supervisors/Special Advisers for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been granted an audience with Lagos State House of Assembly Committee Chairman on ICT, Hon. Olarenwaju Afinni.
The chairman of the forum, Hon. Moses Hunyinsode, from Badagry Local Government, appreciated the state lawmaker for coming creating time out of his busy schedule to meet with the forum in order to have a fruitful deliberations on ICT units across the 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas within Lagos State.
Issues bothering on; how to attract ICT projects to the local Councils, partnerships, creation and due recognition to the ICT unit were some of the issues discussed with the house committee chairman.
While responding, Hon. Afinni, welcomed the forum to the Lagos State House of Assembly complex on behalf of the speaker, Rt. Hon. Obasa. He said he has listened to the issues raised by the forum and promised to intervene at the appropriate quarters. He also eulogized the group for their eagerness to want to effectively perform in their respective local areas. He urged them to continue with the spirit and that he would be available for assistance anytime the need arises.
In his words, "I welcome you all to the complex. You all are the pioneer political appointees on ICT and I like your spirit of wanting to effect the needed changes. I understand that some LGs/LCDAs are yet to comply with the Governor's directive of creating an ICT unit in their local governments. We will look into it and ensure the needful is done"
Also present in the meeting include the Secretary of the forum, Hon. Tobi Salako from Oshodi-Isolo local government, Hon. Jelili Adekunle from Orile-Agege, Alhaja Taiwo Odewale from Ipaja-Ayobo LCDA, Hon. Adekunle Lawal from Alimosho LG, Hon. Lasisi from Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. Hamzat from Mosan- Okunola LCDA, Hon. Tosin Ogundipe from Agboyin Ketu, and host of others.
