Barely a week and few days to the presidential election, it has been an endorsement galore for the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and all the APC candidates in Lagos State.
Latest on the list of endorsements is the Association of Lagos State Vulcanizers as they joined the league of organizations, associations and groups that had declared their supports for the APC candidates.
The state chairman of the association, Mr Aderopo Oguntunde, who led thousands of his members across Lagos State to the Independent Campaign Council office of APC, Ikeja, noted that after thorough examination of all the political parties and their candidates, the Association of Lagos State Vulcanizers, with a membership strength of 50,000, have all agreed to endorse and support Asiwaju, Sanwo-Olu and all APC candidates.
While welcoming them, Cardinal James Odunbanku, popularly called Baba Eto, expressed his happiness and gratitude to the association for their choice to endorse the ruling APC. He said their endorsement is a further testimony that Asiwaju is loved by all and sundry.
Also welcoming the group was the Director of Foot-Soldiers Directorate who also doubles as the executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede. He equally expressed his satisfaction at the decision of the association, he noted that he's sure the decision of the party was based on the conducive working environment provided by Lagos state and the sterling achievements of successive governments.
In his words, "I am indeed pleased to receive this noble association today and myself and other political colleagues are happy at your decision to endorse our party and candidates. Asiwaju and all the successive Governors have transformed Lagos into the save heaven we have today. We urge you to remain resolute in your decision and translate it to elections."
