The honourable member representing Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1 at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Bashir Dawudo, has facilitated strategic capacity training for primary school teachers within his constituency on smart ways of teaching mathematics and science.
The capacity training which was done in partnership with National Teachers' Institute, Kaduna, saw participants being trained in new training approach to smart learning, improvisation, educational planning and learner's centered lessons.
Beneficiaries of the capacity training were drawn from various primary schools within the Oshodi-Isolo federal Constituency 1. The lead trainer, Mr. Ahmed Muideen from the National Teachers' Institute, Kaduna, noted that the training is very crucial owning to the new ways of teaching mathematics and science in the contemporary world. He stressed that the federal lawmaker representing the constituency appreciates the importance of basic education and that was the reason he facilitated such training for the teachers within his domain.
A participant, Mr. Olubode Emilola from Methodist Primary School, Oshodi, appreciated the MHR for facilitating such a crucial training for the primary school teachers noting that such training was the first in the local government.
He said; " I am happy to be among the teachers that will participate in this important training. We have learned a lot and it will enable us to properly teach our pupils".
Another beneficiary who is also the head mistress of Larinde Pry School, Mrs. Monsurat Tijani, equally noted that such training should not stop because herself and her teachers have learned new things and new approaches to teaching mathematics and science in her school.
The MHR noted that he will continue to facilitate projects that would be beneficial to the constituency. According to him, " this training is one of the numerous trainings I have been able to facilitate to my constituency. I fully understand and appreciate education and I will continue to bring home projects, trainings and empowerment that would benefit my constituents.
