"We lost a rare gem, a man that truly stands for the people, a political tactician and a complete party man"
The above were the words used by the executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, as the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) Apex leader of the local government, Pa. Joseph Olabintan, was laid to rest today.
The deceased, untill his passing, Pa Olabintan a major player in the political activities and dynamics of Oshodi-Isolo local government and a strong political heavy weight whose exploits gave him the Apex leadership position. A no mean feat.
He passed on to glory on 13th January, 2023 at a ripe age of 90 years.
His final journey home started with a night of tributes, followed by a wake and service of songs before his interment today where thousands of friends, family members, political associates and well-wishers converged to bid him farewell.
Speaking after the interment, the council chairman disclosed that Papa, as he was fondly called, will be greatly missed in the political circle. He noted that his leadership roles and traits will be difficult to fill, while stressing that the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government APC has just lost a rare gem.
He said; " Papa has just been committed to the mother earth. We have lost a rare gem whose traits and attributes will be difficult to forget or replaced. Papa was indeed a leader and he will be greatly missed by the entire APC family in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government. I pray to God to rest his gentle soul."
The council boss sympathized with the deceased immediate family, the APC and his friends.
