Conference '57 on ICT backs Olatunbosun Alake as ICT Commissioner

The Conference '57 on ICT in Lagos State which comprises of all the Supervisors and Special Advisers across the 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State has lent their voice to the nomination and the eventual confirmation as Commissioner of Hon. Olatunbosun Alake, the immediate-past Special Adviser on ICT and Innovations to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. 

The body equally strongly advised that after the confirmation of Hon. Alake as a Commissioner by the Lagos State House of Assembly, Gov. Sanwo-Olu should assign him to head the Ministry of Science and Technology because he has the requisite educational background, professional know-how and core expertise. 

The body made their stand known through their Chairman, Hon. Moses Hunyinsode, who doubles as the Supervisor for ICT, Badagry Local Government Area.

They noted that a cursory look into the life of Hon. Alake shows that he is a perfect fit for the Ministry of Science and Technology since it is his field of study, and he has acquired various certifications and garnered ample experience, distinguishing himself in his capacity as the Special Adviser on ICT and Innovations in the first term of Governor Sanwo-Olu. 

The forum revealed that a dig into his life shows he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science from Temple University, Philadelphia, United States, and an MBA in General Management from Metropolitan College of New York. He also has certifications in Leadership decision making and Decision science from Harvard Kennedy School; Policy for Science, Technology and Innovation from MITx on edX; Cloud Computing Core from IBM and Python for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence also from IBM.

His work experience include being the General Manager for Information Technology and Innovation and later General Manager in Information Technology in Filmone Entertainment. He also served meritoriously as Special Adviser on Innovation and Technology to Gov. Sanwo-Olu while being a board member of Lagos State Research and Innovation Council. 

All the above show that Hon. Olatunbosun Alake will be a round peg in a round hole if given the portfolio of Commissioner for Science and Technology under the indefatigable Governor Sanwo-Olu.

Conference 57 on ICT, being the connecting dot to the grassroot, pledged to give him their total support, as well as replicate and drive his innovations at the state level to their respective local council areas. 

They urged Governor Sanwo-Olu to assent to their humble request as they are convinced that Hon. Alake will further drive the THEMES agenda of Mr Governor. The forum further said they would drop a letter for Gov. Sanwo-Olu, while urging him to heed their request.
