The executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has sent out congratulatory message to Nigerian youths and the youths of his local government in commemoration of this year's International Youths Day.
The council honcho whose message was contained in a press release made available by his media office described the youths as the engine-room and the wheel that drive development of any nation.
Oloyede specifically appreciates the doggedness, tenacity, creativity, resilience and die-hard spirit that a typical Nigerian youth possesses.
He further posited that it is because he fully understands the importance of the youths, how creative they can be and the need to positively channel their talents and energies towards development of the local government that he massively engaged them and has been very prompt in advocating for them.
He further disclosed that youths making up 80% of his cabinet is a way of strategically engaging and positioning them for higher duties and training them to be a responsive and responsible ambassadors of Oshodi.
He said, "today is international youth day and I want to use the opportunity to salute the doggedness, tenacity, creativity and resilience of the Nigerian youths. Any nation that is serious about its future and development should never joke with its youths.
"The youths of our dear Oshodi-Isolo local government have exemplified their talents in different spheres. Oshodi is indeed blessed with brainy youths and we are proud of them. 80% of my cabinet and other appointments are youths and it was a deliberate attempt towards channeling their energies and brains for development of our dear local government.
"As a government, we shall continue to support them and create a conducive environment where they can display their talents and thrive. We shall continue to encourage, motivate and support them. On this year's International Youths Day, I salute our youths and wish them well. Happy international Youths Day."
