The executive Oshodi-Isolo local government chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has received in audience the pupils of ROI Springs Schools, Oshodi, in his Oyetayo office.
The visit, according to the school proprietress, Mrs Olujimi Joyce, was borne out of the desire to enable the pupils interact with their leaders so as to get encouraged, motivated and aspire to become great in life.
Otunba Oloyede who was ably represented by his Vice, Hon. Mrs. Modupeola Aregbe-Badmus, joyfully welcomed the pupils and had an extensive interaction with them.
The Vice Chairman, while relaying the good will message of the chairman, disclosed that the Otunba Oloyede's led administration holds the welfare, well-being and the education of children in high esteem. She itemized some of the educational pursuits of the chairman to include giving of scholarships to students, both at the secondary schools and Masters level, presentation of smart learning equipments to schools, distribution of GCE and JAMB forms, distribution of exercise books and writing materials to students amongst others. She equally disclosed that plans are ongoing for the new academic session that will be starting soon.
During the interactive session, some of the questions asked by the pupils include how they can also be decision makers when they get older, how the chairman and his Vice emerged in which she explained to them that it was through election and that they both campaigned before being voted by the people. They equally asked what her typical day looks like.
By and large, she implored them to read and be faithful to their studies, stressing that they can become anything they want to become in life provided they are determined and prayerful.
The proprietress, Mrs Olujimi Joyce, appreciated the council chairman for impacting positively on youths within the council and for being their political and educational liberator. She also thanked the Vice chairman for her time and the warmth reception accorded to them.
Oyeneye Ayishat, one of the pupils, presented an award of recognition to the council chairman in appreciation of his efforts in education.
