Prayers, Encomiums Trail Oshodi Council Chair's House-to-House Palliative Distribution

In a determined effort to directly reach out to those in need, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, the executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, directed a house-to-house distribution of palliative items. The initiative aims to ensure that the palliative items are received by those who truly require assistance. Recognizing the challenges faced by the elderly and people with disabilities, special consideration and attention were given to these groups during the distribution process.

Accompanied by his wife, Chief Mrs Fadekemi Oloyede, the distribution train commenced from Afariogun ward and continued its journey through Branco-Eyinogun areas of Mafoluku, Oluyeye, Ewu Ward, Ogunoloko, Shogunle, and concluded at Igbehinadun ward of the local government. This comprehensive approach aimed to cover a wide range of communities within the local government.

The decision to implement a house-to-house distribution followed a recent incident where a mass distribution event at the local government secretariat led to difficulties for certain categories of individuals, particularly the elderly and those with disabilities. In response to this feedback, the chairman decided to ensure that these individuals, who were unable to fully benefit from the previous program, were prioritized and directly reached in their homes.

Essential food items distributed included rice, beans, garri, spaghetti, noodles, groundnut oil, and tomato paste. The beneficiaries, expressing their gratitude, offered prayers for the success of the chairman and his family.

One beneficiary, Alh. Muyibat Ibrahim, an elderly woman, conveyed her happiness and appreciation to the council chairman while praying for his continued success and the protection of his family.

It is commendable that the executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, has taken proactive measures to ensure that palliative items reach the most vulnerable members of society. By implementing a house-to-house distribution program and considering the unique needs of the elderly and those with disabilities, he has exemplified a commitment to inclusive and equitable relief efforts.
