Thousands Benefited from Oshodi-Isolo LG Palliative Distribution

In his determination to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal on the masses and in effort to ameliorate same, particularly on the residents, the executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government of Lagos State, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has given out thousands of relief palliative packages.

The local government open field secretariat was filed to the brim on Wednesday as thousands of residents thronged the venue for a mega food palliative of the executive chairman of the council.

Otunba Oloyede, while giving his speech at the epoch making event, reiterated his commitment to the well being of the masses as he said more welfare package programmes will be held soon for the benefit of the people.

He said; "we are giving out food items such as rice, beans, yam, garri, macaroni, eggs, noodles and spaghetti among others to our people as part of our effort to cushion the  effect of fuel subsidy removal, which is most keenly felt by people at the grassroot. We are not unaware of the hardship caused by the subsidy removal and that is why we are here today to give out these palliatives. This is one of the many steps we are taking to show our support to the vulnerable in our community."

The council chairman seized the occasion to reel out some of the palliative efforts his administration has made in the past months.

He said; "We have embarked on different people friendly programmes to show our commitment to bringing succour to the people of Oshodi. Just last week, as part of our education support programme, we distributed 400 GCE forms to prospective candidates to perfect their educational pursuit for a greater tomorrow and we planned to do more."

In order to make the program seamless, the distribution started with elderlies, people living with disabilities, pregnant and nursing mothers before the general public.

Beneficiaries of the mega food palliative thanked the executive chairman for putting food on their table as they prayed fervently for the success of the chairman in his steering of the affairs of the council and all his endeavours.
