Oshodi-Isolo LG CoS, Leke Banjoko, Distributes Free Eye Glasses, Pre-loaded BRT cards to residents

 



In a bid to give back to the society and support the residents of Oshodi-Isolo local government, the Chief of Staff of the local government, Hon. Leke Banjoko has shared free eyes glasses and pre-loaded Cowry cards to enable residents enjoy free Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services while commuting to their various place of works. 

The program, which according to the council CoS, was done in memories of the three political pathfinders of the local government, is also a way to give back to the society. The pathfinders who strived to liberate the local government include the first executive chairman of the local government, who concidently was his father, late Chief I.A. Banjoko, the first House of Assembly member, late Chief Adisa Ajibulu and the first female Councillor representing the local government who also was the mother of the incumbent chairman, late Alhaja Taiwo Almoroof.


While giving his opening remark, Hon. Banjoko appreciated everyone present and eulogized the council chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, for being a good role model.


He enumerated all he has learned from the serving chairman which spur him to also want to give back to the society. 

He also appreciated the selfless efforts of the departed heroes and heroine noting that they gave the local government a solid foundation and set good examples.


He said the impacts of these great personalities will forever be felt as long the local government is in existence. 


He said; "firstly I want to thank my boss, the chairman of this local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede for being a good leader from whom I learn so much. I learn from his selflessness, dedication and devotion to service. 


This program is majorly to remember our fallen heros and heroine who gave their best for the benefits of this local government. They gave the local government a solid foundation that we are building on today. 


This program is also my little way of giving back to the society that has impacted so much in me. Today, I shall be giving 200 pre-loaded Cowry cards to our people to enjoy free BRT service and also 100 people will be tested, medically advised and will be given free eye glasses."


Present in the epoch event are Supervisory Councillors for Environment, WAPA and Civic Engagement, honourables Femi Ajayi, Feyishara Bashorun and Obafemi Olalekan. Special Advisers to the Chairman on Revenue, Hon. Gideon Balogun and Media, Tobi Salako were also present. 

Equally in attendance are party leaders, Chief Femi Akeju and Hon. Sunday Akinwale. The APC chairman of the LG, Hon. Saheed Animashaun, Secretary, Hon. Adekunle Kehinde and women leader, Alhaja modinat Ibrahim were equally on ground.


Others include ward chairmen of Oluyeye, Mafoluku, Ewu, Shogunle and Igbehinadun wards.
