The Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has urged road users, particularly drivers to be mindful of their driving habits as the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) kick-started  this year's Ember Months Campaign.

Otunba Oloyede gave the charge while delivering his goodwill message as the special guest of honour at Terminal 2, Oshodi, venue of the elaborate event on  Thursday

The council chairman who was ably represented by his Special Adviser on Media, Information and ICT, Hon. Salako 'Tobi spoke on the theme: Speed Thrills but Kills, Drive Responsibly and Avoid Overloading".

In line with the law, the council chairman urged motorists to stay clear of any alcoholic drinks and drugs before or during driving. He emphasized the fact that more accidents are often recorded at the ember months due to desperation of motorists and carefree attitude of some highway users.

He reminded the attendees, particularly motorists, that life does not have a duplicate and drivers should engage on defensive driving.

He said; " It's an honour for me to stand before you all today to discuss the all-important issue of educating our drivers to be mindful and careful while driving. Overspending, Overloading and being intoxicated during driving are some of the major causes of accident in our society.

Many of the wanton waste of lives through accidents are avoidable if only our people can be careful, regardless of whether we are in ember months or not. Please don't drink and drive. Remember your loved ones at home ".
