Ounje Eko: Oshodi-Isolo LG Chairman, Oloyede Lauds Initiative, Promises Council Palliative

The executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has lauded the Ounje Eko Sunday Market initiative initiated by the Lagos state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu to ameliorate the hard economic situation in the country.

Otunba Oloyede while commending Sanwo-Olu, described the initiative as a novel one with far reaching effect on a lager population.

The council chairman gave the commendation when he visited the Sunday food Market tagged 'Ounje Eko' taking place at Owoseni primary school of the council to ensure seamless transactions.

Oloyede also commended the residents for conducting themselves orderly.

He also thanked the security agencies for ensuring a hitch free activities. 

Oloyede had earlier visited the school premises to be used and was satisfied with the preparedness of the vendors, staff members and the security arrangements. 

When the market was eventually opened by 11am, he visited again to ensure that people were being promptly attended to. 

After commending the laudable initiative by the governor, the Oshodi-Isolo Council honcho also announced that efforts are in top gear towards finalizing the palliative intervention of his local government. 

He said; "I am extremely pleased with this novel initiative by our governor who has come up with this 25% reduction in prices of food items. The initiative will afford our people the opportunity to buy food items at a reduced price without any form of discrimination. On behalf of the residents of Oshodi-Isolo LG, I thank his Excellency governor Sanwo-Olu for this initiative. 

I also want to inform our people that we are equally planning another palliative intervention for our people and efforts are in top gear towards finalizing the process. Soonest, I mean soonest, we shall also give out food items to our people."


Oloyede further implored the people to keep faith with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that his reforms and policies will soon be yielding good results.
