Glitz, Glamour, and Camaraderie at Rotary Club of Ewutuntun 21st Investiture Ceremony

 


The Lagos State Country Club, Ikeja, played host to creme de la creme on Saturday, August 10, 2024, as the Rotary Club of Ewutuntun, District 9111  held her 21st Investiture Ceremony in glitz, glamour, and atmosphere full of camaraderie as many Rotarians, far and near, reunited and shared quality fellowship time together. 

The well-planned event saw the convergence of esteemed people from different walks of life with the hall of the venue filled to the brim.

In her acceptance speech, the 21st President of the Rotary Club of Ewutuntun, Magical President Bukola Alamu, expressed her happiness as the Second female President of the club in her 20 years and acknowledged the enormous tasks ahead. 

In her address, she enumerated projects that are in tune with the core seven areas of focus of Rotary International. 


Her areas of focus include but are not limited to strengthening the catchment area community via projects that will not only sustain but have long-term benefits: maternal mortality and child health care neonatal projects, literacy programs, and health initiatives. 




Other initiatives include fostering collaboration, diversity, equity and inclusiveness (DEI); leadership growth by nurturing each member's potential and creating a powerhouse of skills and passion ready individuals who are ready to drive the mission of the Magical year in particular and the club in general.




She appreciated the support the Rotarians have been giving her while urging them to sustain the tempo and even increase it. 




Alamu eulogized the service of the past presidents of the club, stressing that she is counting on their experiences to forge ahead. She further expressed her desires to continually improve lives, living standards and businesses in the Rotary Club of Ewutuntun catchment area. 




Amongst the league of dignitaries that graced the epoch event were the Pioneer District Governor, Rotary District 9111, Dr. Wole Kukoyi represented by Assistant Governor Kamal Opoola;  DG-elect District 9111, Henry Akinyele; Past District Governors (PDG) Omotunde Lawson, the mother of the day; PDG Remi Bello; PDG Patrick Ikheloa; Past Assistant Governors (PAGs) Femi Oloyede; PAG Ade Oyenekan; PAG Samson Okenyi; Assistant Governor Adeleke Yusuf; Chartered President Wright Nyingifa, Past Presidents (PP) Fuad Ajakaye; PP Olalekan Otun; PP Majin Gaja; PP Victor Olowo; PP Femi Anifowose; PP Yomi Owolabi; PP Kudirat Opoola; PP Dele Adegbola; and Immediate PP Reuben Oni. 


The Keynote address was delivered by PDG Jide Akeredoli, AKS; under the Chairmanship of Mr Jide Omotayo, MD Needsbridge Ltd; Royal Father at the occasion, Oba Shakirudeen Kuti, Elewu of Ewu; Father of Day was Dr. Tunji Abayomi, human rights activist, and Constitutional lawyer; and Guest Speaker was Rtn Adeolu Okanlawon, Chief Information Security Officer, SPDC and PP Bamidele Onalaja, AKS in attendance. 


The Investiture ceremony also had in attendance: Hon. Stephen Kayode Ogundipe, Chair of Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Strategy and Security; Hon Smart Akinleye, Executive Secretary Oshodi - Isolo Local Govt; and Irresistible Presidents Rtn Jide Ogunleye, RC of Omole Golden; Rtn Demola Martins, RC of Festac Town; Rtn Ben Dare, RC of Akowonjo, among others. 


Another highlight of the event was the induction of 7 new members, Rotns Ezechukwu Irene; Emmanuel Elendu; Adesanya Ibrahim; Latifat Kasumu; Bola Ogunbanwo; Lukmon Olaegbe and Folake Adelusi.
