Rotary Club of Ewutuntun, District 9111 is set to host its Widows Empowerment Project, a transformative initiative aimed at supporting widows with sustainable means of livelihood.
The event scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 25th March, 2024 at Ibis Royale Hotel, Airport Road, Lagos, will see the presentation of grinding machines to 20 widows.
Speaking about the upcoming empowerment project, President of the Rotary Club of Ewutuntun, Rtn. Bukonla Alamu, emphasized the club’s commitment to economic empowerment.
“This initiative aligns with Rotary’s mission to create lasting change in communities.”
“By providing these grinding machines, we are equipping widows with a reliable source of income to support themselves and their families.”
The club’s Chairman Widows Empowerment Committee, Rtn Kudirat Ola -Opoola expressed excitement about the project, noting that the screening and selection process, which is scheduled for Thursday, 20th March, 2025 at Fallygold Stores, 1A Arowojeobe street, off Adeyemi street, Oshodi, Lagos will ensure that the beneficiaries are those most in need.
“We have carefully planned this project to ensure its impact is far-reaching. Our goal is to uplift these widows and give them an opportunity to thrive,” She stated.
Rotarian Kudirat Ola Opoola added that, “The Widows Empowerment Project underscores Rotary’s dedication to humanitarian service, fostering economic independence and sustainable development within our communities.”
